BOOKING, CANCELLATION AND NON-REFUND POLICY
Asociación de Apoyo a la Reinserción Social de Canarias (ARES-CA)
Operating under the trade name Revelia Recovery Center
- Purpose and Scope of Application
This policy outlines the terms and conditions for booking places, user admission, and cancellations, as well as the justification for the non-refundable nature of payments made for the specialised addiction rehabilitation services provided by the Canary Islands Association for Social Reintegration Support (ARES-CA), operating under the trade name Revelia Recovery Center (hereinafter, “the Centre”). Compliance with this policy is mandatory for all users, as well as for the person or entity making the payment (hereinafter, “the payer” or “the user”).
These terms comply with Spanish legislation on associations, healthcare/therapeutic services (to the extent applicable), data protection, and consumer and user rights regulations applicable to this type of specific and individualised service.
- Non-Refundable Nature of the Booking
Why is no refund given? The following justifications explain the direct and indirect costs and damages to the Centre resulting from booking a place and subsequent cancellation:
1.Highly Limited Capacity:
- By reserving a place, other potential users who could have occupied that place are excluded.
- In the event of cancellation, the economic loss is significant, as demand is high, and the cancelled place cannot always be filled immediately.
2.Immediate Allocation of Human and Material Resources:
- From the moment the booking is confirmed, the Centre organises and schedules human resources and material resources specifically for that individual:
- Therapeutic and medical team (psychologists, therapists, doctors).
- Material resources (room, equipment, specific medication).
- This planning involves operational costs that cannot be recovered if the user does not attend or decides to cancel.
3.Personalised Treatment Plan Design:
- From the moment the booking is confirmed, the clinical and therapeutic team dedicates time to analysing the initial information provided by the user (or by the commercial agent/platform), which may include details about the main addiction, age of onset, consumption history, personal situation, and any relevant clinical or psychological detail. Even without formal medical reports, information is gathered through admission questionnaires and preliminary interviews to design a tailored intervention.
- This study and design process involves hours of professional work and constitutes a cost that cannot be reversed.
4.Administrative and Marketing Costs:
- The Centre incurs administrative costs for managing bookings (document processing, information dissemination, logistical coordination, etc.).
- Additionally, referral fees are paid for users (e.g., to commercial agents or intermediary platforms), which are generated as soon as the booking is confirmed.
- This includes the commercial agent’s time spent on calls, follow-up, and closing the booking, as well as potential advertising platform fees. These costs are not recovered in the event of cancellation.
5.Scheduling and Agenda Disruption:
- Reserving and subsequently cancelling a place creates a gap that is difficult to fill immediately, possibly requiring a new evaluation process for other candidates.
- Rehabilitation therapies and groups are planned in advance. Cancellation disrupts proper organisation and may affect other users and group dynamics.
For all the above reasons, the booking is considered a consideration for guaranteeing the occupation of a very limited place and the set of pre-service efforts and arrangements initiated by the Centre. Consequently, no refund claims will be accepted in the following cases (unless justified by force majeure detailed in point 6):
- Voluntary cancellation at any time, before or after the start of treatment.
- Non-attendance (no-show) on the agreed date or within 7 days after payment, without providing justification within 15 days following the scheduled date.
- Cancellation for a force majeure claim that is not justified within the 30-day period or lacks supporting documentation.
- Voluntary abandonment after treatment begins.
- Expulsion due to breaches of Internal Regulations (substance use, violent behaviour, etc.).
- Capacity and Nature of Service
- The Centre has a maximum capacity of 15 places available simultaneously, allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
- The addiction rehabilitation services are highly specialised and tailored to the clinical and psychological situation of each user. This involves personalised analysis and planning (room allocation, development of a specific intervention plan, coordination with psychologists, therapists, medical staff, etc.).
- Booking a place effectively occupies one of these limited spots, preventing other interested parties from accessing treatment immediately, resulting in economic and therapeutic harm to the Centre and these users in the event of cancellation.
- Booking a Place: Process and Obligations
1.Confirmation of the Booking:
- The place will be considered reserved once the corresponding payment has been received, the amount and payment method of which will be communicated in advance (cash, credit card, or bank transfer).
- The booking process begins when the user/payer contacts the Centre and provides the required information.
- This amount (hereinafter, “the booking payment”) will be non-refundable under any circumstances, as set out in this policy.
2.Period of Reservation:
- The Centre holds the place for the user for seven (7) calendar days from the date of payment confirmation.
- If the user fails to appear within this period or does not justify their absence with documentary evidence of force majeure, the place will be released without the right to a refund.
3.Acceptance of Non-Refundable Nature:
- By making the booking payment (usually referred to as “Place Reservation – [User’s Name]”), the user and/or payer agrees to this policy and, in particular, to the non-refundable nature of the payments made.
4.Prior Reading of this Policy:
- Before making the payment, it is the responsibility of the user/payer to thoroughly read and understand this booking, cancellation, and non-refund policy.
- The payment implies full acceptance of all the clauses and conditions stated herein, including the non-refundable nature.
5.Voluntary Nature of the Contract:
- Addiction treatment is a voluntary By voluntarily paying to reserve the service, the therapeutic team is engaged, and a limited place is formally occupied.
- Therefore, if the user later decides not to use the place or any other cancellation occurs not covered under justified force majeure, no refund will be granted.
- Voluntary Abandonment and Medical Interruption
1.Unjustified Voluntary Abandonment:
- If the user decides to leave before completing the programme, payments made will not be refunded.
- However, the Centre may allow a temporary absence of up to 48 hours if there is a justified reason and the user commits in writing to return without having consumed any substances, submitting to the re-admission toxicology test.
- If the user does not return after this period or violates the conditions (e.g., substance use), the place will be considered definitively abandoned, with no right to a refund.
2.Justified Medical Interruption:
- If admission must be interrupted for medical reasons, as determined by the Centre’s medical or therapeutic staff (e.g., severe health complications requiring prolonged hospitalisation), a partial refund or rebooking may be evaluated, deducting already incurred costs.
- The user must provide relevant reports, and the management team reserves the final decision on granting a partial refund or alternative admission date.
- Exceptions (Medical Force Majeure or Extreme Situations)
Force Majeure Causes
In exceptional cases, the Centre may consider rescheduling admission or, in extraordinary circumstances, granting a partial refund. The accepted causes include:
- Serious accidents: Injuries or traumatic events that prevent admission.
- Hospitalisation: Urgent or prolonged admission to a medical facility.
- Death of direct relatives: Parents, children, spouse, or individuals with an equivalent relationship, duly accredited.
- Natural disasters: Fires, floods, earthquakes, or similar events that prevent travel.
- Serious personal emergencies: Unforeseen and documented circumstances that directly affect the user or payer.
Deadline for Justifying Force Majeure
The user or payer will have a maximum of 30 calendar days from the date of cancellation or non-attendance to submit supporting documentation, which may include:

C/Toninas 49, Punta Prieta (Güímar) 38500, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Spain

Options for Justified Cases
When a force majeure situation is proven, the Centre will evaluate the following options:
- Rescheduling the admission: Proposing a new date within a period of up to 3 months from the initially agreed date.
- Granting a partial refund: This refund will only cover the unused portion of the service and will deduct:
- Administrative fees.
- Costs for therapeutic and logistical arrangements.
- Commercial and marketing commissions.
- If a refund is applicable, the percentage of reimbursement will be a minimum of 50% of the unused portion of the service, after the above deductions have been applied.
Centre’s Evaluation and Discretion
All requests will be assessed on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of the management team and will only be accepted if the documentation provided sufficiently justifies the cause.
Final Conditions
Outside of these extreme cases, and regardless of the user’s or payer’s personal reasons, no refunds will be granted.
If no valid justification is provided or if the justification does not meet the established requirements, the reservation will be considered entirely non-refundable.
6.1 Itermediate Cases
If the user reports a reasonable cause that does not qualify as force majeure, the Centre may, at the discretion of the management team:
- Reschedule the admission, with a maximum limit of 3 months from the original date.
- Offer future credit for another treatment, deducting incurred costs.
- Payment Terms and Methods
1.Accepted Payment Methods:
- Bank transfer.

- Cash (at the Centre’s facilities or another designated location).
2.Reservation Usage Deadline:

- In cases of force majeure, the period is extended to 30 calendar days, provided that the user submits valid supporting documentation within this timeframe.
3.Applicable Law, Jurisdiction, and Exclusion of the Right of Withdrawal
- In accordance with Article 103, letter l), of Real Decreto Legislativo 1/2007 (TRLGDCU), the User acknowledges that the legal right of withdrawal of 14 days does not apply, since this contract concerns the reservation of a place in a comprehensive therapeutic program that includes accommodation services for purposes other than serving as a residence and whose execution is linked to specific dates and periods.
